BASICS... I'm an amateur songwriter (words and music) of extremely varied styles. All my material is available for artist and publisher consideration, and I'm really hoping that in time my songs will be seen as commercial and get placed. Writing is what makes me tick, and nothing will change that...... INSPIRATION.... I started songwriting about 8 years ago, and find it to be a great outlet for emotions of all kinds. Although my inspiration comes mainly from personal experiences, it can also come from a chance remark by someone, from being asked to write about something specific, or simply through empathy. People often say they can relate to my songs, and that's cool. Whether they're basic and funny, or much deeper and obscure, my songs cover the whole gamut of life experiences I guess, and that's probably why they're so varied......... DEVELOPMENT.... I'm a member of the MCPS and PRS, and pleased that my first royalties have been confirmed for extensive performances of my material in Australia in 2005. ....(WOW! the system works) LOL! Although only demos, my songs have been played quite a lot on BBC Radio, and many internet radio stations. FRUSTRATIONS... I've had a few. eg. "Keeper of my heart" was shortlisted to 6 by London Weekend Television, the programme makers of the original UK Popstars series, and sent to Polydor Records for "Hearsay"s attention.....(OK, forget I said that) and my only Jazz one "Half-empty glass man" was felt strong enough by A &   R at Hitquarters to send to Nora Jones' producer, Brian Bacchus. CO-WRITING Normally, the words and music evolve together, but being a songwriter only, I feel truly privileged to be also co-writing online with some great indie musicians/writers/singers.
