Michael Sky
I started writing songs in the summer of 1971. I am a self tought musician and have always played by ear. I learned a few chords and wrote a song...learned a few more chords and wrote another song. Through the years there have literally been hundreds of them. There is just not enough room to post all of the songs I have recorded and many of them are poor quality by todays standards due to tape noise. The songs I have here at SongPlanet are a blend of both personal and listeners favorites and cover many years and several genres.
I like working with other musicians and other styles, so if you are an artist that would like to try some collaberating drop me a line.

Songs happen on different levels. Some songs I write from ideas or concepts, while other songs are born out of life's experiences. Then there are the songs that feel like they have always been here, the timeless ones. The day gig is Wildland Fire-Fighting for the Forest Service. During fire season I travel to where the fires are happening. I get to see some awesome country and do something I love. Keep respecting all forms of life, especially the children, the animals and the earth. Wilderness and wildlife must be kept sacred at all costs, without wilderness the earth and the spirit of true freedom will die.
